San Diego FC (SDFC) will host the Club’s first-ever Pride Night at Snapdragon Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 23, presented by Alaska Airlines in partnership with San Diego Pride. The match against the Portland Timbers will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT, as SDFC looks to secure a playoff spot in its inaugural MLS season.

Pride Night will transform Snapdragon Stadium into a vibrant celebration of unity, inclusion, and the beautiful game – a night that’s about more than just three points. SDFC will honor and uplift the LGBTQ+ community, showcasing that football is for all and that our shared humanity is what connects us beyond any labels.

“Diversity is our superpower,” said SDFC CEO Tom Penn. “Pride Night is about celebrating the beautiful intersection of love, football, and community here in San Diego.”

Giveaways, Special Merchandise, and Pre-Match Festivities
The first 10,000 fans to arrive will receive a Pride-themed luggage tag courtesy of Alaska Airlines. Fans can also purchase a Theme Night Ticket Package that includes a match ticket and a limited-edition Pride-branded bucket hat (while supplies last). Season Ticket Members can purchase the bucket hat via Account Manager.

Pre-match festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. PT at Fan Fest, featuring local LGBTQ+ performers, interactive activities, and community partner activations. In the stands, rainbow flags will wave in the supporters’ section, Pride rainbow smoke will rise during the first half, and Pride-themed corner flags will decorate the pitch. Players will wear special Pride warm-up tops, and the “Merch of the Match” will be created by Playmaker of the Match, Kalee Choiniere (art alias Barely Awake), a traveling painter and muralist known for her bright, whimsical imagery.

Special Guests and Match Highlights
The evening’s Keeper of the FLOW will be Shannon Mac Millan, Chief Impact Officer at San Diego Wave FC, U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer, FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, Olympic gold medalist, and part of the legendary ’99ers.

On the field, fans can expect a high-energy matchup between two clubs with passionate, inclusive fan bases. Off the field, Pride Night will be a moment for all of San Diego to show up, show out, and stand proud.
