SAN DIEGO (Friday, April 3, 2026) – San Diego FC’s Woven into One Planet Month, presented by Palomar, kicks off this week with a series of community service projects focused on sustainability, environmental stewardship, and community impact across the San Diego region.

“At San Diego FC, we believe in the power of soccer to bring people together and create lasting change,” said SDFC VP of Community Joel Katz. “Woven into One Planet Month is our opportunity to take meaningful action through community service and civic engagement. By working alongside our fans, partners, and local organizations, we’re reinforcing our commitment to sustainability by engaging our communities in service projects that will raise awareness and create lasting impact across the region.”

These events activate SDFC stakeholders – including staff, SDFC Season Ticket Members, partners, community organizations, and fans to connect the community to sustainability and service projects. The month-long initiative includes cleanups, restoration projects, educational events, and tree planting efforts across San Diego County.

A cornerstone moment of Woven into One Planet Month will take place on Earth Day (April 22) at Willie Henderson Sports Complex, where SDFC and presenting partner Palomar will host a joint all-staff service event. Employees from both organizations will come together for a day of hands-on community impact, supporting park beautification, restoration efforts, and improvements to a vital community space in Southeast San Diego.

“Palomar is proud to partner with San Diego FC in bringing Woven into One Planet Month to life,” said Ariel Lim, VP, Business Development. “Our commitment to sustainability is rooted in supporting and investing in initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods and communities for the long term. This Earth Day activation at Willie Henderson Park reflects our belief that meaningful impact starts at the local level, and we’re excited to work alongside SDFC to create lasting change.”

Palomar’s involvement throughout the month underscores its broader focus on community resilience and sustainability, aligning with proactive investments in environmental stewardship and disaster preparedness. By supporting initiatives that restore public spaces, mitigate environmental risks, and engage local communities, Palomar continues to support communities to better withstand and recover from evolving environmental challenges.

Together with San Diego Community Power, SDFC will also support City of San Diego Arbor Day (April 24) activations and tree planting efforts in Southeast San Diego, while additional community organizations and partners will collaborate throughout the month on sustainability and service initiatives.
