San Diego FC fans from across San Diego County gathered at Snapdragon Stadium for the Club’s debut in the Concacaf Champions Cup, setting the stage for what’s to come. Ahead of the Home Opener, presented by Jameson vs. CF Montréal, supporters shared their excitement for the 2026 MLS regular season and what the Club means to them.
San Diego FC’s inaugural season was one to remember, and the city is ready for more. The Club finished first in the Western Conference during the 2025 regular season and made a historic run to the Western Conference Final. From Celebration nights to the Flow ritual, and Frontera SD’s thunderclap, Snapdragon Stadium quickly became a place where memories were made, and traditions were born.
For many fans, matchday is about more than soccer, — it’s about connection.
Andres Guzman has attended several matches and makes it a priority to bring friends and family with him.
“I'm trying to have them have a good time, see the vibes of the stadium and let them know, it's going to be worth it in the future,” said Guzman. “They (SDFC) almost had it last season. I'm hoping they get all the way through (this season).”
San Diego native, Elizabeth Miller has been a Season Ticket Member since day one. For her, San Diego FC represents both inspiration and family time.
“Two out of three of my kids, actually all three at some point, but now just two out of three play soccer. And so it means showing them what they can become in the future,” said Miller. “Also being able to have family time when we come to games, being able to have friend time where we bring one or two of their friends and then like the parents and whatnot. But yeah, the season tickets have been fantastic to be able to bring friends and family and share that with them.”
For Abel and Veronica Munoz, San Diego FC filled a void and gave the city something to rally behind. Born and raised in San Diego, Abel said the arrival of a professional soccer club was unforgettable.
“Yes, I was excited. Big time. I told her (Veronica), and we came to the first Fan Fest they had here,” shared Abel Munoz. “It was exciting to see something bigger for San Diego”
Abel and Veronica Munoz shared their experience from last season and how they came to almost every single match. They weren’t Season Ticket Members at the time, but after attending SDFC’s matches they decided to join Frontera SD as Members for the 2026 season.
“It's so much fun to come to the games and watch them (SDFC) play, and I mean we've been watching soccer,” said Veronica Munoz. “We grew up with it so it's a part of life.”
The family-friendly atmosphere and matchday experience made renewing an easy decision for Miller and her family.
“Being able to share those memories again. So, build on more memories and hanging out with the kids and also coming and doing the Fan Fest stuff ahead of time,” said Miller. “The kids love that and I also loved it because then I felt like a kid. There was one time there was like the bullseye, and I was able to make it on the bullseye thing. So that was fun to prove to my kids that I could do it.”
As anticipation builds, fans across San Diego are ready to once again fill Snapdragon Stadium and support their Club.
