SAN DIEGO (Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026) – San Diego FC (SDFC) announced today that the Club has acquired midfielder David Mimbang on loan through the end of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season from its sister club, FC Nordsjælland (FCN). Mimbang will occupy an International Roster Slot and will be added to the roster pending receipt of his P1 Visa.
“David is a player we’ve been tracking closely within Right to Dream, and bringing him to San Diego was a real group effort and a great example of the collaboration across our sporting departments,” said SDFC Sporting Director Tyler Heaps. “We’re excited to welcome a midfielder with tremendous potential who brings a different profile and skill set to our group. He has the physical tools, technical quality and mentality to continue developing, and we believe San Diego FC is a great environment for him to take that next step.”
A native of Cameroon, Mimbang represented the Cameroon U-17 Youth National Team at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he made four appearances (four starts), registered one goal, and played 360 minutes in the competition. He helped the team claim the 2025 UNIFFAC U-17 title and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Mimbang developed at Cameroonian club Brasseries before joining FCN after his standout performance at the 2025 CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
