San Diego FC returns to action this Saturday, May 3, welcoming FC Dallas (4-3-3, 15 points) to Snapdragon Stadium for Matchday 11 of the 2025 MLS Regular Season. Military Appreciation Night, presented by DIRECTV

Saturday’s match marks SDFC’s inaugural Military Appreciation Night, presented by DIRECTV – a special evening honoring the service and sacrifice of the region’s active-duty service members, veterans, and military families. As part of the celebration, the first 30,000 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative SDFC camo flag courtesy of DIRECTV. More information about Saturday’s Military Appreciation Night is available HERE. Tickets for Saturday’s match are available at SanDiegoFC.com/Tickets.

Looking to Bounce Back at Home

SDFC returns to Snapdragon Stadium after suffering its first-ever home loss, a 3-1 defeat to Real Salt Lake on April 26. Despite the result, SDFC remains in seventh place in the Western Conference and will look to reset in front of its home crowd. Saturday’s game will mark the Club’s sixth home match of the season.

Dreyer Delivering in Debut Season
Among all MLS newcomers in 2025, SDFC winger Anders Dreyer has emerged as one of the league’s most impactful creators. The Danish international leads all first-year players with 26 key passes and currently ranks in the top five across the entire league in that category.

Lozano in Form

Hirving “Chucky” Lozano continued his strong run of form last weekend, converting a penalty kick for his second goal of the season. The Mexican international now has six goal contributions (2 goals, 4 assists) in just seven appearances (six starts) for the Club in 2025.

Cinco en Mayo

SDFC will host five matches at Snapdragon Stadium in May, featuring Celebration Nights like Military Appreciation Night presented by DIRECTV, Kids Night presented by San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and Summer Kickoff presented by California Bank & Trust. Tickets for all May matches are available at SanDiegoFC.com/Tickets.

SDFC’s Five Home Matches in May:

  1. May 3 vs. FC Dallas (Military Appreciation Night presented by DIRECTV)
  1. May 14 vs. Colorado Rapids
  1. May 17 vs. Sporting Kansas City (Kids Night presented by San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance)
  1. May 24 vs. LA Galaxy
  1. May 31 vs. Austin FC (Summer Kickoff presented by California Bank & Trust)

Dangerous Opponent

FC Dallas enters Saturday’s contest riding the momentum of an exciting 4-3 road win over Inter Miami CF on April 27 – handing Miami its first loss of the 2025 MLS regular season. Led by head coach Eric Quill, Dallas currently sits sixth in the Western Conference and will aim to continue building form away from home. FC Dallas hasn’t lost on the road since last October, when it fell 3-2 to the San Jose Earthquakes at PayPal Park, and has gone six straight road matches without a loss to start the 2025 season – the longest streak to begin a campaign in their history.

Familiar Faces
Saturday’s match brings SDFC Head Coach Mikey Varas face-to-face with his former MLS club. Varas served as an assistant coach for FC Dallas under then-head coach Luchi Gonzalez for three seasons (2019–2021), following his work with the club’s Academy (2017-2019). During his tenure there, FC Dallas reached the MLS Cup playoffs twice fueled by a number of standout Homegrown players from the club’s academy.

What’s Next

Following Saturday’s match, SDFC will hit the road to face St. Louis CITY SC on Saturday, May 10 at Energizer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PT.
